I started as a makeup artist. I could soften redness, disguise breakouts, and create the appearance of healthy skin.
But I wanted more for the people sitting in my chair.
Two years in, I realized I was good at hiding a problem I didn’t actually understand. So I became a skin therapist, not to perform treatments, but because I believed people deserved someone who could help them feel confident in their skin.
I still begin with the same question.
What does this client need?
Not what’s trending. Not what’s on promotion. Not what worked for someone else.
That question has carried me through day spas, medical practices, and years working alongside fellow skin therapists, nurses, physicians and cosmetic surgeons. I’ve treated thousands of faces, but it was my clients who taught me the most.
Most weren’t lacking commitment or good products. They’d never found the right path forward.
I’ve learned that saying yes isn’t always the right answer. There have been many times I’ve recommended against the treatment someone came in to ask for, not because it was a bad treatment, but because it wasn’t right for them.
That won’t make me the right skin therapist for everyone. I’m okay with that.
Honesty builds trust, and trust is something I’ve never been willing to compromise.
Every appointment ends the same way for me. I ask myself one question.
Did that person leave feeling seen?
I don’t think anyone should walk out of my studio without feeling that way. That’s why I created KERRI. Skin Health.
The greatest privilege of my career still isn’t treating skin. It’s the trust my clients place in me.
I’m Kerri. Welcome to KERRI. Skin Health.
